Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Here are some common question client questions about our office, policy, and procedures.
What’s your phone policy?
At the Law firm of Gary M. Singer we make every effort to return every phone call the same day, but no later than the next business day. There will be times when we are unavoidably unavailable and you will not be able to reach your attorney immediately. In these cases, please leave a message with the Legal Secretary or receptionist. We are committed to staying in communication with you and assisting you in a timely manner.
How do I get an Appointment?
Many legal matters can be handled by telephone, e-mail, fax, or email to facilitate ease of service for the client. We will suggest handling certain matters this way as it saves you as the client the time and effort of coming in to the office. In the event you do need to meet personally with one our attorneys or staff members, simply make an appointment with our receptionist or the legal secretary handling your case. Your appointment will be set on the calendar. A team member will call you and remind you of your appointment, but please make note not to miss any personal appointments as it is required for the proper handling of your legal matter.
Unfortunately, we do not take "walk -in" appointments. We are always eager to meet with new clients, all new and current clients are required to make an appointment. If there is an urgent matter, please call the office immediately, and let a team member know the urgency of the situation and we will do our best to accommodate you as soon as possible.
What if I move or I go out of town during my case?
Please maintain your current contact information with your legal team. It is critical that we have your correct mailing address, phone number, and e-mail to best represent you. If you cannot make a scheduled appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so we may readily reschedule it for you. If a client chronically misses appointments with out prior notification, the client might incur a missed appointment fee. This is done as we have set aside team to deal with you personally, and waiting for a client that does not come to appointment deprives another client who needs and wants that appointment.
How do I know your fees or rates?
Communication is key with our clients. All hourly rates and fees are always discussed and agreed upon before we start any work on a case. After our first meeting with you as a new client, we will send you a retainer agreement before any work commences on your case.
